Do you want to know WHY you haven’t achieved your goals?
Because on some level you don’t believe you can.
You aren’t alone, we all do this. It’s a symptom of a bigger problem.
We constantly underestimate ourselves.
I’ve recently become a mum of 2 and when I was bringing my 2nd baby home from the hospital, reality hit, HOLY CRAP! I’m a mum of 2 now. 2 children. 2 human beings dependant on me for their survival. WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO?! How can I do this??
It’s not just motherhood that has me questioning my abilities.
How can I run my own business?
How can I be fit enough to do the City to Surf?
How can I keep the romance alive in my marriage?
So all over the place, I’m wondering if I can really have the life that I want.
Have you been there? Wondering if you can achieve all the things that you want?
Well guess what, you can.
When I look back, I actually surprise myself with everything that I have accomplished. Each day I give myself a pat on the back for keeping my kids alive and having fun in the process. Every time I write a blog post, I have to give myself credit for building up my business to where it is today. Every work out I do, I need to acknowledge my body for coping with all of the crazy exercises my personal trainer makes me do.
It’s time for you to reflect on your own life. Look back on all the situations you have been in, where you didn’t think you could do it, and you’ve come out on the other side.
Look at the times where you were facing something truly tough and realise that you survived it!
Acknowledge all the bumps and obstacles you have faced and overcome. Before you did it, you probably thought it was impossible. But now you are on the otherside..realising you have achieved the impossible!
Now I want you to think about your goal. Your big hairy scary goal. The goal you think is impossible.
Then, imagine yourself a year from now. Imagine that you have achieved it. Imagine how good it feels and how your life is different having achieved that goal.
If future you had one message to tell you today, it would be this: YOU CAN DO IT. I know you think you can’t, but look – you can!
So it’s time to start believing in yourself. Believe in your abilities to do the impossible. Because something is only impossible before you actually give it a go. As Audrey Hepburn once said, “the word ‘impossible’ even says ‘I’m Possible’”
