“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us.”-Marianne Williamson

I never truly understood this quote. Why would anyone be afraid of how good they are? What would make anyone retreat from their best qualities? How would any one protest being powerful? I mean, look at Beyonce. The woman is a clear champion – is she afraid of her power? Oh hell no! So yeah, I never understood this quote.

Until now.

I thought that I knew who I was and what I had to offer the world. I told people I was a business & career coach, with an extensive background in corporate marketing and a business degree to boot. The reactions I received were admiration, respect and approval. I felt trusted. I felt like I was onto a good thing.

Except I was completely stuck.

I didn’t know how to build my business. I had no idea how to attract clients. I didn’t really know how to market myself. I didn’t really know who to market myself to. It all felt so hard. So, I enrolled in lots of different courses and programs. Hoping that someone else would tell me what I needed to do.

But despite all of the things I learned, I was still stuck.

I had to do some exploration. I had to find out what was keeping me from moving forward. So through lots of self-discovery work, I realised that I had wound up where I was due to 3 main motivators: acceptance, approval and responsibility.

I studied marketing and went into a corporate career to be accepted by my family.

I positioned myself as a Business and Career Coach to get approval from society.

And I waited for someone else to come along to take responsibility for my business.

Does this sound similar to your story? Have you done things because you sought approval and acceptance from others? Do you avoid taking personal responsibility for your life?

When I learned that relying on others was keeping me stuck, I realised I needed a massive change. But I had to ask myself; who do I need to be in order to accept myself, approve of my path and take on 100% responsibility?

A Queen.

This realisation scared the bejesus out of me. And that’s when I finally understood Marianne Williamson’s quote. I was afraid of my light. I was afraid of my power. I knew, deep down, that I was capable of BIGNESS. But that felt terrifying. So great, I thought, stuck again.

But not for long.

I had two options; stay small and stuck in my box OR embrace my inner Queen and forge a path led by happiness and joy.

Well, you can guess which path I chose. And this is what I discovered:

As a society, we don’t PRIORITISE our own happiness. We think it’s nice to be happy but not necessary for getting stuff done. But I discovered that happiness is KEY. When we choose to prioritise happiness, we instantly become resourceful, productive and creative. With happiness on our side, we set goals, take action and break out of the box we were stuck in. Happiness helps you believe that anything is possible. So in short: happiness is not just beneficial, it is ESSENTIAL to turning your dream life into reality.

This stunning discovery and my subsequent promotion from business and career coach to QUEEN, I am now driven to help others do the same. I want to help women prioritise their happiness. I want to show women how liberating it is to drop the need for acceptance and approval. I want women to know that taking on responsibility for what you love feels AMAZING.

In short; I want to show women how to live like a Queen. To fill their lives up with self-love, happiness, joy, respect, firm boundaries and compassion.

I’m a Vital Life Guide – helping you discover what lights you up and letting that lead you to a life beyond your wildest dreams.

Now – enough about me. I want to know about you. Who are you? Who do you want to be? Do you want to be empowered and start living life on your terms? I have created a facebook group filled with women who want exactly that. To be the Queen’s of their own lives. It’s called the Feisty, Fearless Female Collective and we are all there to help serve, support and nurture each other and our dreams. Join this private group here and get ready ascend your throne!
