We all do it. Sometimes even daily. We let ourselves down.

I’m not talking about being negatively critical of ourselves. That’s the ego/inner-bitch talk that tells us we aren’t good enough, smart enough…whatever. Actually, when we are hating ourselves, our ego is delighted. It is when we are confident and self-assured that our ego is disappointed. However, I digress…

I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. It’s the pit in the stomach ache that tells us we missed a golden opportunity. It’s the guilt we feel when we watch ANOTHER tv show instead of using our time wisely to invest in ourselves. It’s the anxiety we feel when we see other people kicking goals yet we have nothing to show.

These subtle yet toxic patterns keep us small and hold us back from pursuing our soul’s purpose. However there is a simple 3 step remedy to help you re-engage with your true self and get you back on that pedestal.

  1. Recognise. Become the detective of your behaviour and sniff out what is a time waster as opposed to a productive activity. Learn to listen to your thoughts before you engage in time wasting activities. What are you telling yourself? I know I tell myself that I deserve a break. Now that I recognise this as my ‘excuse’, I can reward myself with something that is more productive rather than a time waster.
  2. Forgive & be firm. Let go of the guilt and forgive your past actions. But don’t let yourself off the hook too easily. That’s how we fall in the trap of letting ourselves down. We need to hold ourselves to higher standards. Therefore, be firm and fair with yourself.
  3. Action time. What are you still doing reading this? Go take action. Like NOW!

So, if you are still reading this, tell me in the comment section below what action you will take right now. Then give yourself a pat on the back!
