Last night I was journalling and found myself writing “this week is going to be the most epic week of my life so far”.
Now there are no major events planned, no birthdays. In fact, I’ve just had one of the most amazing weekends I’ve ever had so it’s going to be quite tough to back that up.
As I wrote it, I felt nervous. My head was already thinking “how is this going to even be possible?” As well as thinking “with my luck, the universe will send a whole load of challenges to test me. It’s going to be a shit week”.
How interesting that my heart was clearly shouting “I want to keep having amazing experiences because that is what life is all about” yet my head was being a big Ol’ party pooper.
The thing is, my head is coming up with all of these false ideas that seem easy to believe but will hold me back in every way. It wants to know HOW, WHEN and the results better be guaranteed. But that isn’t possible. Life is all about the unknown and facing uncertainty around each bend. But isn’t that what makes life so awesome? The fact that it ISN’T predictable.
When you set your mind to a task, don’t jump straight to “how”. It is the #1 dream killer. Besides, you aren’t supposed to worry about “how”. That will all work itself out. All you need to do is decide on what you want and commit to going for it.
So this week, give yourself the challenge of going big. Bigger than you’ve ever gone before. Bigger than you could even dream. Don’t let your head talk you out of it. Don’t feel as though you need to know it all right now. Just dive in and see what happens.
Have fun and get caught up in the adventure of life.
